When we forget who we really are, we identify with the gross body. Because we don’t remember the inner Self, the witness consciousness, we believe we are this body. We are like the person sitting inside a house, believing we are the house. In this limited understanding, we become caught up in the conflict of desire and doubts.
We are the pure, Divine principle, the Godhead. Knowing ‘This’ is the goal of everyone.
The distinction between spirit and matter has meaning only until true knowledge is attained. After we know our true Self, the absolute, bliss consciousness that is God, we experience that the seer and the seen are the one supreme consciousness.
We are the witness, the Self of all. Knowing this, we understand that nothing is different from our true Self. We are present in everything. This universe is the expansion of our own all-pervasive consciousness. There is only Brahman, the One without a second, and we are ‘That’.
