Spiritual techniques are ways to reveal God. Mantra is God’s very being. The mantra is not a combination of letters or simply a word. It is a living force, the consciousness and power of God in sound form.
Inside, we are a fluctuating mass of consciousness. When we project the mantra into this fluctuating mass, it stabilizes it and focuses it in the direction of the true Self, our all-pervading consciousness. Mantra passes from mind to prana, then into the bloodstream permeating our entire system. The name of God removes all impurities in our physical and subtle bodies. Through mantra repetition, the mind becomes the vibration of God, thus we realize our oneness with God.
Each repetition impresses itself inside of us. It transforms us from an egoic self that lives in its created image as a separate individual into the Divine Itself.
If we are called stupid and we identify with that word, we become enraged, or hurt, or feel worthless. One word can have tremendous effect. Repeating the name of God has great power, but when we identify as it, it has an exponential power to cause an internal revolution. Repeating the mantra with full awareness of its meaning allows us to realize the full power of the Name. When we repeat the mantra with the awareness that the repeater of the mantra, the syllables of the mantra, the Guru and God (the object of the mantra), are one, we will realize its power immediately.
Repeat the mantra received from or repeated by an enlightened being whenever we are not required to focus elsewhere. Mantra carries us from form to our formless, all-pervasive consciousness. No matter what we have done, the name of God redeems us. Repeat it with faith and love. Listen inside to the words we are silently repeating. Mantra is the living force of God.
