Be At Peace The Essential Teachings to Be At Peace Our delusion is that we seek the thing outside hoping for happiness inside. Be At Peace If we attach our happiness and peace to an outcome we will live our life in disappointment. Be At Peace Happiness is not a thing or circumstance. It is a state of mind. Be At Peace To end depression, do something for someone else. Be At Peace Resistance is our war with ‘what is’. The opposite of war is peace. Be At Peace Resistance shows up as attachment and aversion. When we have an aversion, we push away. When we become attached, we become lost in desire and outcomes. Our resistance disallows receiving. Be At Peace In resistance we choke off the flow of life force, the source of abundance. The choke-hold of resistance causes lack and limitation, dissonance and disharmony. This is the value of acceptance, allowing, harmony and surrender. They remove resistance and allow momentum and flow. Be At Peace Acceptance is not judging as good or bad. It is seeing ‘what is’. It allows a peaceful beginning. Be At Peace Lack isn’t the absence of the thing. It is insufficient connection to the intelligence and power of the Self. Be At Peace Well-being is active. When life is static it deteriorates. Well-being happens naturally because it is the nature of life to thrive. In order to thrive we must be in the flow and momentum of our nature, our Self, our creative intelligence. Be At Peace Abundance doesn’t mean wealth. It means realizing the unlimited intelligence and power that is fully contained in our Self. Be At Peace Bringing light to the darkness disempowers the darkness. Bringing the light of awareness to pain disempowers the energy surrounding the painful experience. Holding pain in an optimal way requires non-judgment and neutrality and that is accepting what is, as it is, now. Non-judgment and acceptance don’t mean that what happened was OK. It means you accept what is – you accept that there is pain, in this moment, exactly as it is, in neutrality. Be At Peace Fear, experienced consciously, can be held with understanding and the energy of fear can dissipate and be resolved. Fear unresolved, suppressed or distracted from, becomes a dissonant energy that survives in our unconscious energy field and creates separation. Be At Peace Experiencing fear does not mean we wallow in the emotions or recreate the fearful and painful experiences. It means we feel what is inside and hold the energy, emotions and thoughts in compassionate, neutral acceptance. Be At Peace Unresolved fear is suffering on a mental and emotional level but separation is the fundamental experience of suffering on the level of Self. In our disconnection and separation, we feel unlovable and unworthy. This represents the core of real suffering. This is the basis of human wounding. Be At Peace Resolution is not about loving or forgiving the other person. It is about loving ourself, extreme Self-acceptance. Be At Peace Personalization makes our entire life all about us and our struggle. It becomes the way life; attachment, aversion, resistance, judgment and justification. Personalization - self-grasping - deepens and solidifies the suffering of separation all the while we think we are ending it. Be At Peace The stories we create in our mind only serve to support the ego through justification and judgment formed around our attachments and aversions. It matters very little how much of the story is true or false. The effect is a dissonant monkey mind. Be At Peace When our story reflects what happened to us it will reflect victimhood and fear and is false and unnecessary. When it reflects how life has happened for us it will reflect gratitude and it is generally true. In resonance or dissonance, true or false, either way, the story only creates a flurry of mental activity that is unnecessary. Be At Peace Off feelings, negative reactions and distractions are the call of our suffering. These are the indicators, the signposts that we have unresolved fear within us and that we now have the opportunity to resolve it. These signposts are our suffering rearing its head. Resolution starts by recognizing we are feeling off or recognizing we are being triggered into a negative reaction. Be At Peace Resolution is not about analyzing, fixing or changing. Resolution is about turning toward the pattern, seeing deeply, and holding it in compassionate awareness. It is expanding awareness of what’s inside of us and holding what’s inside in neutral acceptance and immense, compassionate love. When a dissonant reactive pattern is held this way it loses its power. Be At Peace Fear is resolved through Self-love. It is bringing self-compassion, self-acceptance and self-love from within and bathing every aspect of ourself, including the pain and fear, in that love and compassion. Self-love is immense acceptance of every aspect of ourself. In immense acceptance, judgment evaporates and justification is no longer required. Be At Peace We practice kindness, compassion and virtues to bring peace of mind. We meditate, chant and serve to bring peace of mind. A peaceful mind allows stillness. Stillness reveals the Self. That is enlightenment, realization, remembrance, illumination, revelation and recognition. Be At Peace Help others. Be kind to others. Our lives and all we have are a result of the kindness of others. Kindness eases self-grasping. When self-grasping eases, then sadness, worries and judgement dissipate and we experience peace. Be At Peace When resolution happens within us, it begins the process of resolution in the collective unconscious. Our individual resolution is the ultimate act of compassion because we bring resolution to the collective unconscious and ease the suffering of the world. Be At Peace We do spiritual practices to know the Self, to achieve stillness and realization. We meditate, chant, offer selfless service and pray. But living our life consciously is also our practice. Living with compassion, remembering the highest and living with a peaceful mind is our 24- hour practice. Be At Peace Let ‘peace of mind’ be our constant measure; does this thought, does this action create peace of mind. Be At Peace When we practice compassion we equalize and exchange self and other. Then selfishness diminishes and we cherish all of life, ending our separateness. Then we can only love all beings. Be At Peace Creation is universal consciousness forming an intention and willing it to be manifest. ‘Intention’ is choosing a purpose, direction and outcome. ‘Willing’ is moving power into action, into creation. If we want to powerfully create then, from the foundation of stillness, create an intention of intelligence and power, focusing on purpose, direction and outcome, and will it to manifest through the power of attention and action. Be At Peace When a desire with attachment is thwarted or denied, it turns to anger. Anger arises from dissatisfaction, from not getting what we want or getting what we don’t want – from the expectation unfulfilled. Desire with attachment is wedded to anger. Be At Peace When we accept anger or a negative feeling without judgment we can watch it and create a space of non-identification. Acceptance is not judging as good or bad. It is seeing ‘what is’. Then we are not accumulating it or creating negativity. Watching, witnessing, observing the negativity and feeling the energy - immersing it in the resonance of non-judgmental, neutral awareness - transforms the negative energy into neutrality. That is freedom and resolution. Be At Peace Only one consciousness exists. Only one power exists. There is only God. Our awareness is part of God’s awareness. Everything that exists is God. We are God, the animal is God, the plant is God, the rock is God. It all is made of God, within God. Know the Self. That is God within. Be At Peace Out of the bliss of the Self arises love. Know the Self. Meditate on the Self. Then our lives exist as instruments to end the suffering of all beings, to bring happiness to all beings and to bring realization to all beings. Be At Peace
