The days pass quickly, one after the other.
The years flow by, quickly adding up to a lifetime.
Yet our desires remain ceaseless.
Remember God
We spend our time seeking wealth, information, worth and beauty.
When old age arrives, we are forgotten.
Yet our delusion remains strong.
Sing God’s name
We dream and fantasize about a perfect life.
We set goals to retire, seeking freedom and liberation.
Yet our delusion holds us prisoner.
Meditate on God
In youth the world loves our bodies, our energy and our passion.
As our hair turns white and our bones become brittle, we are put away.
Yet our desires hold their power over us.
Put God first
Our youth and strength make us feel invincible.
Then our memory fails us and our muscles atrophy.
Yet our attachments hold a powerful grip.
See God in each other
Throughout every life we carry our desires and delusions, tightly held.
Yet now we can lay them down.
Surrender to God
Blessings,
