Muktananda said, “Inside man lies supreme light. It is the effulgence of God. The moment you become aware of God within yourself, then this world becomes a paradise… The light of the Self assumes a blue form only to reveal itself as the blue pearl in the sahasrar.”

The Upanishads describe how, in the state of Turiya, one sees the blue disc surrounded by a golden halo. The Lord lives within this blue disc.

Muktananda said, “The various visions which different saints have had of the personal aspect of God have all appeared within the blue pearl.”

Yogananda said, “The spiritual eye is seen at the point between the eyebrows as an eye of light, in its center a silvery star encircled by an opalescent blue disc, which is surrounded by a halo of golden light.”

“The spiritual eye is the epitome of manifested spirit in the human body. The golden ring represents the Holy Vibration of AUM, cosmic energy; The blue, Christ/Krishna Consciousness; and the white star, the doorway to Cosmic Consciousness.”

“When the yogi’s mind and gaze penetrate the golden disc, he beholds all matter as vibrating astral light. When with deeper mind the yogi’s gaze penetrates the blue sphere, he experiences Christ/Krishna Intelligence omnipresent in vibratory creation. When the yogi’s mind goes still deeper, and his gaze penetrates the star, he experiences Cosmic Consciousness beyond the vibratory cosmos.”

Muktananda said, “During meditation, sometimes the Blue Pearl emerges shimmering and sparkling before your eyes… Then within the blue Pearl, there appears a Blue Person… He was made of pure blue light… This Blue Pearl lies within each of us.”

Our path takes us from seeing differences and separation to realizing that God dwells within and that God is all there is, within and without.

Muktananda said, “Understand, you are God. Remember, whether you understand it or not, God is within you. Don’t ever forget this understanding: even if you forget God, God doesn’t forget you even for a moment.”
