Life is seldom black or white, right or wrong. It is generally a mix of opposites. When we are not established in Presence, in Being, in God, we become lost in this struggle between the pairs of opposites and life feels like a battle. Then, it becomes difficult to gain clarity when we need to make decisions.
When we begin to experience God and infuse Presence and expanded consciousness within our mind, we are connecting to That which is beyond the pairs of opposites, beyond right and wrong, beyond good and evil. In meditation, when we reach the transcendent, we lose individuality and become omnipresent Reality. When we come out of this state and return to activity, we re-gain our individuality, but we retain some part of the experience of the transcendent reality. We remain untouched by the influence of action when we remain connected to our pure Being, our divinity, the transcendent Reality of Presence. Then eternal freedom, unity and bliss exist along with the relative and its good and bad results.
It is loss of freedom which binds us, not the fruits of our action. With the loss of our connection to pure consciousness, pure Being, we lose our freedom. Loss of freedom arises because of weakness generated from dis-connection. When we have lost freedom, an action affects us strongly and leaves a strong impression within us. These impressions color all aspects of our life. This state causes us to grasp and become lost in desire. We become held in a cycle of impression, desire and action, captured by cause and effect, birth and death. This is the bondage of karma. We lose skill in action.
Skillful action is action that is produced easily, with the least amount of effort, quickly, without negative influence and with maximum benefits. When we expend the least effort, we remain energized and clear to enjoy the fruits of our action while remaining in the freedom of connection to pure consciousness, untouched by the binding influence of action. When action is done quickly, we receive the results immediately. In skillful action there is no negative influence limiting our desired outcome because, in connection, all intelligence and power is directing great power for the expansion of our evolution. Thus, there are only positive influences created for the greatest benefit.
The actor remains established in the Self, the witness, the watcher, the observer. The fruits of action do not leave a strong impression within actor’s mind and so there is no seed to create unnecessary future desires. This is freedom from karma and rebirth. Skill in action is when we are stablished in Being, in Presence while acting, free from the binding influences and impressions of action.
