We have been trained and conditioned to respect our individualism. We are told it is our uniqueness, our personality. But this idea that we are individuals is a false perception that is both encouraged and strengthened as we are educated and grow into adulthood.
When we consider the truth that we are all the same consciousness, all the same awareness, all the same manifestation of the one God, how can we think we are individuals? It is because we believe we are our bodies and thoughts. We see our bodies as separate, individual and unique. We believe our thoughts are personal to us alone. But it is the one consciousness that has become this body. All thoughts arise from and within the one consciousness. It is only our false perception, our false understanding that accepts this delineation, this separateness, this individualism.
When we realize the unity of consciousness, not just intellectually but as our experience, we know the reality that the one awareness is all bodies and minds. This is why the enlightened master experiences all of our thoughts and feelings and feels our body to be his/her body. The enlightened one feels no separation or individualism.
It is the ego that holds us to that experience of separation and individualism. When the ego is purified, it becomes cosmic ego and only experiences oneness, unity and non-separation. Only God exists. Within God all of His creation plays out His cosmic drama. It is all God, within God. There is nothing individual or outside of that oneness. There is one consciousness, one awareness, one creative intelligence creating all thoughts and one energy creating all bodies within God, of God.
