The mantras of many modern spiritual seekers have become self-improvement and feeling good. It is our nature to be happy and evolve, but many see that as having more material things, fixing ourselves and pleasure. Then our path becomes very focused on our things, our situation and getting all our desires fulfilled. It is easy for a spiritual quest to become self-grasping.
Self-improvement, seen through the eyes of having to fix ourselves, can take on a sense of self-condemnation, sin and insufficiency. Feeling good, seen through the eyes that our pleasure comes first, can take on a sense of self-absorption.
When we walk a path where happiness is generated through realization of our Divinity – through knowing the true Self – and where evolution advances through the unification of kindness, compassion and selflessness, then together, they can flower into understandings and experiences of bliss, the end of suffering and the happiness of all beings.
Blessings,
