Many of us participate in new thought movements that emphasize changing our life through changing our thoughts. The concept is correct, but most experience few results. This lack of results comes because we have little soul force behind our thoughts. A weak thought will produce weak results. Thoughts have little power without soul force.
It is the will that moves thought into manifestation. It is will that moves prana. Will gives thoughts the power, direction and momentum to manifest. But where is that power coming from? What is this force? Soul force is shakti and is the power inherent in pure consciousness. When there is less connection to pure consciousness, there is less soul force and will is weakened.
We want to create a wonderful, successful life. We do that through our mind creating powerful thoughts. The thoughts are powerful because of a powerful will. The will is powerful because it has the power, the shakti, of pure consciousness embedded consciously within it. In the end it all depends upon our connection to one thing – God, pure consciousness, the true Self.
While realization (enlightenment) is the purpose of our life, the day-to-day life we are leading is also critical and supports our realization. Success in the practical part of life is determined by power and mind. This is shakti, will and thoughts. Meditation and our spiritual practices are not just about the enlightenment side of life’s equation. They are also the basis for the practical side that allows life to thrive through the connection to the fundamental awareness and power of life.
We can do little about our past karma’s effects upon our situation. But we can do much to create our life’s current manifestations. Yes, some disconnected people have amazing life karma and reap its rewards now, spending and dissipating their karmic currency. But no matter our circumstances, with connection, we empower ourselves to create.
Blessings,
